The Eaton County United Way Fall campaign traditionally kicks off the last Wednesday in September with a "Day of Caring" throughout the county.  On our Day of Caring, we ask the residents of Eaton County to do something nice for someone.  Hold a door open, bring a treat to work, rake your neighbor's leaves, or just smile as you greet a stranger on the street.

Workplace campaigns are from October 1st to the 30th and most workplaces select one or two weeks for their own campaigns.  United Way campaigns are conducted in factories, offices, schools and nonprofit agencies throughout Eaton County.  Most individuals who contribute to United Way organizations do so through payroll deduction, which normally begins with the first payroll in January and runs throughout the year.

  • Participating in a United Way campaign promotes camaraderie and teambuilding among employees.  Corporate spirit.

  • Some employers feel their employees are not financially able to make a donation to United Way.  Low-income people are most likely to support United Way because the lower-income employees of the company, as well as their families, are oftentimes the beneficiaries of services provided by United Way agencies.

  • Companies who match employee donations, or who provide a corporate gift, receive tax benefits.

  • Corporate leaders are encouraged to take a leadership role in the direction of the local United Way, including having a strong voice in the allocation of donor dollars.

Anyone wishing to learn more about our workplace campaigns, or who would like to host a workplace campaign at their workplace, should contact us at:
