How Does My Donation Help? (and why
should I give it to you?)

dollar counts" and here are a few examples of why that is such a
true statement:
Your gift of $1 a week for a year ($52)
provides:
- Nine children with a summer community
education program.
- 52 balanced meals for a low-income
person.
- Ten days of antibiotic treatment for
two injured animals.
Your gift of $5 a week for a year ($260)
provides:
- Four weeks of shelter for a homeless
person.
- Two children the opportunity to
participate in a scouting program for a year.
- Every teacher in Eaton County with
information on reporting suspected child abuse and neglect.
Your gift of $10 a week for a year ($520)
provides:
- Bereavement support, follow-up, grief
recovery groups, and support groups for a family member of a
terminally ill person.
- Seven days of shelter for a domestic
abuse victim and her children.
- One year of clothing for a child
(grades 6-12) living in a residential home.
This past year, in Eaton County:
- 300,000 pounds of food were
distributed to more than 30 agencies in Eaton County that served the
homeless and hungry.
- Volunteers responded to 12 single
family fires, 3 apartment fires, and assisted 77 individuals with
emergency needs in the Eaton County area.
- Over 1,400 people received substance
abuse services and prevention services reached over 8,000 children
and young adults in our county.
- Over 4,000 low-income people in Eaton
County were served hot, nutritious, and balanced meals by attending
the community dinners each week.
- 600-800 individuals and families from
Eaton County were provided counseling services.
- About 12,000 meals were delivered by
100 volunteers to individuals who could not adequately care for
themselves.
- Over 300 homeless and domestic
violence victims from Eaton County, half of which were children,
were provided emergency shelter, crisis counseling, and support
services.
- Over 2,100 youth in Eaton County
participated in scouting programs.
